Bacterial Nitrogen-Fixing Biopreparation for Seed, Seedling, and Vegetative Plant Treatment of Vegetable, Industrial, Cereal, Flower, and Berry Crops
AZOTOBACTERIN-K is a highly effective composite biopreparation based on a combination of soil bacteria of the Azotobacter genus with nitrogen-fixing and biosynthetic activity, designed to increase the productivity and protect against diseases of vegetable, industrial, cereal, flower, and berry crops in organic and integrated farming systems. It can be used for seed treatment (as an inoculant), seedling treatment before planting, and spraying vegetating plants at different growth stages.
The preparation contains strains of growth-stimulating, nitrogen-fixing free-living soil bacteria Azotobacter chroococcum and Azotobacter vinelandii, in combination with biologically active metabolites, trace elements, and nutrient medium components.
The effectiveness of the preparation is determined by the bacteria’s ability to assimilate molecular nitrogen from the air (20-45 kg/ha) and synthesize various biologically active substances, including phytohormones of the auxin, gibberellin, and cytokinin nature, antibiotics, B vitamins, organic acids, and amino acids. These substances stimulate plant growth and development, increase their resistance to diseases and environmental stress factors, and enhance yield and quality (particularly sugar and vitamin C content in vegetables and berry fruits). The bioagents in the preparation exhibit antagonism towards phytopathogenic fungi of the Fusarium, Alternaria, Penicillium genera, etc., and also improve resistance to viral and bacterial diseases.
The bacteria in AZOTOBACTERIN-K effectively develop in moist soils with a soil solution pH of 4.8-8.0. AZOTOBACTERIN-K promotes the production of environmentally safe products with reduced costs and can be used in organic farming. When the bacterial preparation’s application rules and plant cultivation technologies are followed, the preparation increases crop productivity by 12-30% while simultaneously improving product quality. The concentration of live nitrogen-fixing bacteria cells in the preparation is at least 5-7·10^8 cells/ml.
Application Method
Pre-sowing seed treatment should be carried out the day before or on the day of sowing. The application rate of the biopreparation is 100-200 ml per hectare portion of seed or 0.5-1.0 liters per 1 ton of seed. For plant treatment during the vegetative period, the application rate is 1.0 liter per 1 hectare of crops. The indicated dose of the preparation is diluted with chlorine-free tap water or spring water at room temperature to the required volume, based on 1.0-1.5% of the seeding dose or 100-200 liters per 1 hectare of crops. The recommended minimum temperature for using the biopreparation is +10°C, and the maximum is no higher than +30°C. Before use, the preparation should be thoroughly mixed.
Storage Conditions
The preparation is available in liquid form and also on inert carriers, packaged in polymer bottles or canisters. It should be stored in its original packaging, in a dry, light-protected place, separate from pesticides and other chemicals or toxic substances. The shelf life is 2 months at temperatures between +4 and +15°C.
